Since these old birds are getting rarer and can be costly to maintain, you may consider floor plan a secondary issue. Condition of the unit and general model preferences should be higher on the list. An example would be, do you want aluminum skin v/s fiberglass? This would be higher on the list of deciding factors. Most of the AS motor homes will share some generalities in terms of floor plan. Even the 90's LY had close approximations compared to the 80's classics. Some are flipped from side to side and some will have queen beds while others will have twins but for the most part they have a pretty common layout. Not saying that there aren't differences, but I would personally sacrifice the ideal layout for one in prime condition and work around or modify the layout as needed. I would never consider a purchase site unseen. Most sellers will have detailed pictures of the inside/outside of the unit. In the end you need to inspect the unit very carefully before the purchase. If you need someone to help with the inspection, then there are services out there to assist you in this. There may even be an AS forum member local to the area that can help out. Just food for thought.
