Cheap tools have their place but nothing beats quality. With that in mind I've made arrangements to have a WHISTLER IC-3409PX purchased and shipped to me.

Also at times I'll be a cheap tool, find that having a tool like has merits and then keep my eyes open for a better quality one.

Received the bore scope from Smartstream yesterday and today I took a peek at the cylinders of the 454 slated to go into the Argosy motorhome.

The motor was built around September of 2008. Due to moving from Arkansas to Kentucky during that same time frame the Argosy project got put on hold. The motor has been sitting on the engine stand ever since so needless to say I've been somewhat worried about what the inside might look like after sitting for over four years.

After looking at the pictures I think all things considered it is in good shape.

Just to see how the video feature would work I took a short video at the same time.

Cylinder bore video

The video quality is good even though I didn't move it around very much

I keep coming up with more potential uses for the bore scope. I'm definitely happy that I managed to get this one.

Thanks All for the replies!

Brad
