basic instinct

Is it illegal, ill advised or just plain unsafe to have passengers in the towed moho while moving?

Towed moho? Hmmm...

It's illegal in all 50 states to have passengers in a trailer while the trailer is moving. It's also really unsafe to do it. Motorhomes don't usually get towed unless they're broken. I'd presume it to be illegal to ride in a towed motorhome not under it's own power as well.

First off, welcome to these Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Assuming that you are referring to a travel trailer (a MOHO is a self powered RV), it is illegal to ride in one while underway in most states. As to being illadvised and and safe, I would definitely not feel safe doing it.

If you are referring to a MOHO, passengers can ride in the living section while underway.

Think "The long, long, trailer". Lucy (Tacy) survived, but that isn't what would happen in real life.

Some states do allow passengers to ride in a travel trailer while it is being towed IF there are safety belts provided and the occupants use them...right. If there are people dumb enough to ride in a moving travel trailer while it's going down the highway, what makes any one think those folks are going to be smart enough to buckle-up?

It's my understanding that in California you can ride in a fifth-wheel trailer as long as you have some form of communications with the TV. Sign language does not qualify.
I don't believe that you can ride in a travel trailer.
These were true at one time, but the laws do change...

The Minnesota Highway Patrol had a booth at the February 2006 RV show in Minneapolis. They had a 'curious facts' chart and evidently riding in a trailer underway is not illegal here, though it is highly ill advised and presents unnecessary dangers.

Putting pets back there is okay if you have ample cleaning supplies to clean up, Chuck.

Passengers in Travel Trailers, 5th Wheels, Camper Shells, etc.

It varies from state to state:

Don't you mean "to clean up-chuck"? My cat stays at the office, but I know she would hairball and wommit over the entire trailer if I ever tried to put her in it. I'm sure she'd do it in my shoes just for revenge!
