They have an Airstream hearse at Jackson Center. It is awaiting factory restoration.

I do have pictures and I will post in a little while. It is a Funeral Coach. The coffin can be put in a swinging door from either the curb side or the road side. There is an area in the back with a hatch and steps to store flowers. The front is sort of a bus for the family to ride. Somehow I know what it was before I visited Jackson Center. I must have gleaned that knowledge either from the internet or an Airstream history book.

Sorry, no picture. It is parked behind the service area. Close to the Bowlus trailer.

parked south-north at the northwest corner of the lot to be specific-
The Bowlus Road Chief is parked west-east at the southwest corner of the same lot-
I will post pictures of both in a little while. I probably already have pictures on my trip to Jackson Center thread.

There was a forums member that had one many years back. His name escapes me. We met in Southern Pines, NC a few years ago. He was a golf equipment sales guy. The hatch and space made for great access to storage and large displays fit well. The living area was a split between sales office and personal space. Not many made I believe.

That was GlenCoombe he used our courtsey parking a couple of times while making his sales calls at a some local golf courses. Haven't seen him or his rig in several years.

Well as luck would have it .... I'm back! The FC28 affectionately known as Airstream One is about to rise again. I put her away when gas got so pricey and I stopped traveling "day to day and door to door."
I'm back in Ocala, Florida and the 28 will get her new transmission next week up in South Carolina. From there she'll move south for some refitting a such before I begin to use her from time to time.
Keep your eyes peeled. You never know where you'll see me next.

That's a beautiful looking motorhome.
Lake Wateree the last weekend in March will be full of Airstreams, for the Alumalina Rally, if you want to come by and visit with some like-minded folks.
It's full up, but John welcomes day-trippers.

Well, Airstream One made her maiden flight home Friday of last week. I started in Sumter, SC at 5 p.m. Thursday. After an all day drive north from Ocala. I overnighted in the Savannah, GA area and got into Ocala about noon for a visit to my local tax collectors tag office to make her legal.
The trip south started slow and gained speed about at the Santee bridge where I was confident to start interstate speeds again. I found the new transmission not to have to proper speedo takeoff and speed indicated lower than what I settled in at - 65 mph at 2600 rpm in GV overdrive.
The bus is in need of some cleaning and retrofitting which I'm working on daily. I just ordered new wiper arms and wipers as well as a new turn signal switch from Mill Supply.
I'm transitioning Airstream One from rolling putt lab to party coach for marketability. Yes she will be sold as I'm just not going to be using her as I did in days past. I think someone will see her as the perfect tailgater fun coach.
There's lots to do to bring her fully out of her long nap but we'll see her back soundly to usable condition soon. Let the fun begin as they say!
