1988 345.

I just finished replacing the engine in my 345 classic. I went with the recommendation of my mechanic and replaced it with the same engine that was in it originally. My cruise control is not working and my mechanic is having a hard time finding the right cruise control to work with my system. Does anyone have any recommendations or know where I might be able to find a cruise control system comparable with the 1988 345 airstream Motorhome?

We have also been having issues with my break lights and blinkers at night. At night the break lights and blinkers are very faint compared to my running lights so it's hard to see the break lights and blinkers. I was told this might be related to the cruise control. Any suggestions?

Jim, Rostra sells a universal cruise control system that is pretty much a bolt in affair. The cruise module is 250-1223 and the stalk is 250-3032. Amazon had the best price on the module at around $175.

I have a thread here on Airforums where I documented the installation in a 1984 310.

Hope this helps!

Brad

The first thing I would do is check ALL of the lighting ground connections. Corrosion on ground connections is a continual ptoblem on these rigs. The next would be to clean and or replace the sockets if the look corroded.

Have a look in a copy of the Chevrolet Motorhome Chassis guide, you can download a free searchable copy from the net. Search out the section on cruise control. From memory, I think it has quite a bit of detail on fault finding and configuration, matching items between 454 and stalk (depends on year/model of coach)
