Shocks for my Bambi

I installed new Axis torsion axle on my 61 Bambi but installer said it was not necessary to install shocks. I have had to take off the stove grills when towing or else I find them on the floor-even though they are clipped down. Can someone comment or direct me to an old forum discussing this subject?

Indeed shocks are not required on the torson axle; However from personal experiace they ride so much better with.
