Circuit breaker

My 61 Bambi has two 20 amp circuit breakers. Was this done at the factory? The red wire in the top left corner goes to a bulb socket. Was that an indicator light to tell that there is power?Click image for larger version

The circuit breaker is original

The circuit breaker is original. My ‘61 had it too. The light is used for polarity in the system because plugs didn’t have the small and large prongs they have today. If the light comes on it is indicating the polarity is reversed anc you should turn the plug around. That is what I read somewhere.
