I am leery of keeping my battery in this box on the front of the trailer. Has anyone had trouble with corrosion with the acid being in such close proximity to the aluminum?

You'll have a big problem finding a battery to fit the box. Mine had a black tar like interior coating which I assume was used to protect the metal from acid. I found an aluminum battery box used to relocate car batteries in a trunk and mounted it on the frame. It can handle a much bigger battery and provide more power
I looked into putting a battery in that location on my Bambi. I found out it is a tractor battery and you can get them at Tractor Supply. As you look at most Bambis, you will find that site is abandoned. I have my batteries (yes two) in a battery box on the tongue. It looks pretty cool. You can see it at my website at www.bambiairsteam.com
