1959 Bambi - how do these rate?

Hi there
I'm looking for some advice regarding a 1959 Bambi. I have just started email correspondence with an Airstream buyer/restorer and has offered me a 1959 Bambi. I am new to the Airstream world (alrhough have admired for a long time) and just wondered how the 1959's rate, are they real Bambi's? , i understand the 1960s models are more valuable ? What would be a good price guide for a polished , good condit 1959 Bambi, interior wil be gutted ready for fitout.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

Sarah

Check this site and you will see that Bambis were only made from 1961 to 1964. There are no 1959 Bambis.

Be VERY careful if that Airstream "buyer/restorer" is trying to sell you a 59 Bambi. Don't be in a hurry to get going. Look around here and get some basic know how and ask for some help where needed. Those "blank slate" Airstreams are all around from those who started a project and soon realized the magnitude of the job....and cost.

Thanks Melody Ranch and Doug, after a bit of research last night I gathered that the 1959 Bambi does not exist. The seller, who runs a restoration company I gather, is offering to restore . I am in New Zealand so can't inspect, I think I may engage the services of The Airstream Guy as my 'eyes on the ground'. thanks for the advice, much appreciated !

If the seller thinks he has a '59 Bambi he's probably not knowledgable about Airstreams. I would be very wary of that.
