Water in Fuel light

I have looked everywhere I can on this fuel line and I do not see where this Primary Fuel filter is with petcocks.

Any one ever dealt with this and know where to look?

I have an 88 Classic w/ 454 gas engine.

I believe that only the diesel engines had the water separator filter. Since you're has the 454, you don't have it. Not sure where the standard fuel filters are located on yours but I believe you have a very small one located under the air filter near the carb and one about half way along the fuel line on the frame.

I'd yup you got it, it's in the 3rd paragraph of the scan, diesel.

Nothing to say it wouldn't have been added later. Bella has one between the electric fuel pump and QuadraJet, they work fine on gas engines.

I have one somewhere... the light keeps going off on the dash!!

Where did they put these things? The electric fuel pump is in the back at the tank. The carb is at the other end. heh.. so can we narrow that a bit.

That irritating light

Ok the dark blue / white tracer wire connects to a blue wire on the GM harness. And that goes to the back of the MH on the drivers side…

Argh. I can’t trace this. There are so many wires that are light blue and go nowhere. I am not going to be able to solve this unless I remove the bonnet on the dash and pull apart the wire looms.

LOL…..I’m glad someone else is doing this…..been there, done that. All of those idiot lights are controlled by Airstream’s “Magic Box” which is located behind the dashboard close to the firewall. The “Magic Box” controls the low antifreeze, low washer fluid, water in fuel, etc. It’s useless…..not sure it worked when it was new, not sure who made it. I threw it in the garbage when I redid my dashboard. As much as I wanted to keep everything original, the dashboard didn’t work for me. I needed instrumentation that I could read, and info that was accurate. Enough said, good luck, you will see that what starts as a yellow wire might change color 3 times before you get to the end. Welcome to the world of Airstream wiring…….Regards, Bob

I just took the wire off the light. Never came on again. I have no overflow tank or windshield washer senors. The wires for now go straight to ground and light still come on. The 'magic box' is junk. Next time I'm in the dash those wires will be removed too
