Starter heat problems
My starter heat problem included some "heat soak" slow starting. I replaced my starter when the solenoid burnt, and a few months later the new one did the same thing. This time I used a solid aluminum cased starter and solenoid, with a mounting block of billet aluminum that allows you to rotate the starters head away from the heat source. I then wrapped the starter in a thermo-tec jacket and the wires in their thermo tape. Hope this does the trick. The combo phot shows the old starter burnt, the new one mounted, the wrap on it, then the wires wrapped. Check out the aluminum block mounting the starter to the flywheel cover. Inch thick solid billet.
