Speedo Challenges
I'm helping a friend get their departed dad's 1982 280 Isuzu TD with a recently rebuilt Allison transmission ready to sell. She has 120,000 original miles and maybe 1,000 on the new tranny. Transmission was rebuilt a few years ago. The speedometer, when at an actual 52 MPH, reads 80 MPH so seems to be about 40% off. Took to the shop that did the rebuild and he says he has no idea where to get the gear to fix this. Any ideas? Also, overheated to about 240 degrees in route to the transmission shop..she took a lot of water but still ran hot after. Does this have a reasonably accessible thermostat or am I barking up the wrong tree? Thanks so much..
