New Hedman headers and Flowmasters
Thanks for the info Glen.
Just received my new project from the Brown truck yesterday. Working on soaking the old manifold bolts now.
Also using bolts that have used on my sons 2.8 with headers. These bolts do not back off. For 55.00 bucks they better not!

Summit Racing is where I bought them. $270.00 for the headers, with $10.50 for extra handling. 70 series Flowmasters FLO-52570 $113.00 and the Summit H pipe 642025, $32.00. Yes they are for the P30, Hedman headers number 69820. Headers, Elite, Full-Length, Steel, Thermal Coated, Chevy, Class A Motor Home, 396/402/427/454, Pair.
Shipping was free, except for the extra handling charge for the headers.

Exhaust system advice
CMADMAXMAN, What kind of set up did you have before going to the headers and cross over(H) pipe?...How did you decide on the set up your planning to enstall? Do you have any idea what kind of additional horsepower you can expect to get as a result of your upgrade? I currently have a Banks power pac system which has headers...but...my exhaust pipe leaves the headers and crosses over to enter with the other headers exhaust into one extra large muffler with a 3" single exit exhaust... my system is showing signs of cracks/rust and before I do any replacement of existing parts I was looking for advice on maybe upgrading ... what ever information you may have I would appreciate ... Mr. D

I have the OEM exhaust manifolds on the coach now. The pipes going off the manifolds, I think was a lot of the problem. They were bent very tight and not mandrel bent buy any means. Plus I had wiring problems from past exhaust leaks burning through wires and hoses. Having the system out of the way makes it much easier to work on.
The system you have, I think is one of the best out there. I have worked on the Banks, and they are top shelf!
I'm going with the Hedman and twin Flowmasters 70's from others here that have used this set up with great success. And the cost is much less than the $2000 for the full system from Banks.
When I get the system on and running, will find out how much it helps. By the seat of my pants, should be very noticeable!
It looked like the left manifold was original, while the right I know was replaced by the last PO.

Sorry for not posting this earlier.
Have the new system on and really like the extra power. Have not noticed much increase in MPG, but can really notice the quicker acceleration. And the sound with the Flowmaster 70's? How about the wife saying she likes it!!!!
I had no problems taking of the old system. The biggest problem that I had was fixing the wiring that got burnt from the PO at some time.
While I was at it I added a Perma-cool trans cooler to the coach. I used -8 Stainless Steel bradded lines and removed the old rusted steel lines.
I had a problem with the three bolts going loose at the header flange. Think I got it fixed at this time after 2 trips trying it out. No problems with the header bolts going loose. I used the "bolt stops here" system that I bought from Summit.
I used a heat shield around the starter and moved the electrical connections up to the frame so that if needed, I can disconnect it and drop.

Here are some Pic's of the install. While I was at it I did the front brake job. New Calipers, loaded, hoses, bearings, hub bolts, and turned the rotors.
I welded the whole system up. If I need to drop it, just unbolt and drop as a complete unit.
I also used all of the OEM hangers and put the u-bolt claps, studs up, so that while under there I don't get hung up on them!

Great photos cmax. had headers installed (1988 345) and it made a big difference in the scoot. the installer said he couldn't crossovers in so i let it go. after seeing yours he obviously was over his head so i will seek soemone else out to install them.

I've found that with the same setup minus the H pipe that I got improved fuel economy until the weather allowed me to open the drivers side window.
Both my pipes exit on the road side and my foot gets happy when I can hear the great round sound from the system.... kinda gets ya' deeper into it from time to time.
