Need fuel tank sender

Our '75 Argosy 26 MH is in need of an accurate fuel sender. The previous owner installed what he could find which fits the hole but is too short. We have the optional 50 gallon tank and no local auto parts stores have a listing for the sender. Does anyone know where I can find one? The original non-working one came with the rig so an alternative is to maybe combine the 2 to get the proper geometry. Any thoughts are appreciated.

lol, i see you!

the maker of the chassis should be able to help you out. who made the chassis? Ford/GM?

i'd rather have a new replacement than risk a repair failure.

Thanks, I was getting lonely. The rig is on a GM P30 platform. Tristar looks like the answere, but of course they are in the process of moving so I have to wait for them to reopen in a few days. Their website says most rebuilds costs $75-!50. Not bad for the piece of mind. thanks again.

Sending unit. Where is it and is there access?e

Hi, we are new to this AS business. Our 50 gal tank was at one time enlarged to a 75 gal, but the smaller sender was used. I seems to be empty at half to 1/4 tank. Where is the access to the unit. If it is on top, is there an acess panel somewhere?

On my '82 280 diesel the sender is on top of the tank and yes you have to drop the tank. Mine is 60 gal.

Cheers, Dan
