Several of you folks, like me, may have abandoned Onan the Barbarian for the (relatively) newfangled Honda RV generators. I know my decision was tempered by the knowledge that parts and service coverage for the Hondas were somewhat spotty, at least compared to the Onan network. I remember one comment from a guy who was selling his Honda on eBay because he could find no one in the entire state of Maine to service it.
I'm happy to report that I've found an excellent source of parts for Hondas - Southern Discount Parts. I must be living right - this company is not only right here in my hometown, it's about three blocks from my office! (For you music lovers out there, the shop is right next door to Nashville's famous Bluebird Cafe.) The owner, Greg Meinhart, is a very personable and helpful fellow. He has a very small shop, but he regularly services customers who need parts shipped overnight. In other words, he's very sensitive to getting you what you need when you need it.

One thing that's hard to get from Honda is service manuals. These are available via internet, though, from Helm, Inc. (
