i have tryed to back flush the in tank filter and i now understand why you cant do it that way . the pick up has a check valve installed on it and gas can only go one way. works like the foot valve on a water well. i have the tank empty. filled up all of my other vehicles and now she is bone dry.
i need to know what hose to use for the fill lines looks like a rubber hose. and any thought s on how to get this beast out from under the coach.
what to look for after i ger the pick up out of the tank..
hello peter ar you there??

Al, messure the heights of your tank plus heights of floor jack (and a thin piece of plywood for padding.
See if the combined will clear to pull the tank either to the side or back. If not you have to drive the rig up on blocks.
The rubber fill line for the tank is a special solvent resistant hose. The best you can do is go to napa and find a match.
Buy some beer and ask a friend over.

got it off and the pick up out . the pick up doesnt have a tank filter . but the pickup line for the engine was blocked with something. i put 125psi to it and it would not come out. stuck a wire into it and repeated the 125psi and it came out in fine pieces. could find enough to figure out what it was. the fill pipe hose needs replacing and none to be had today but a parts house i get a break on parts put one on order. be here tuesday am . the tank doesnt look like any rust is in it . i plan to pressure wash it as best i can . i can get the tank commerically cleaned by a radiator shop . dont think i want to do that.
the removal wasnt bad had just enough room to slide out the road side. had the frame lifted with my stabilizer jacks.
im still wandering about the filter i have been swearing about . can not beleive it didnt have one. may be some one will chime in and put some light on the filter situation. dont know if im going to get excited about it . the fuel line has a filter on the frame and one in the carb.
question do or dont you put the tank filter in ??

i have a big filter in line forward of the step. im thinking i will move that as the exhauxt line is close to the filter and may become a problem with vapor lock. hasnt so far.
to put one near the gas tank would be a big pain to replace. i have another spot behind the door to the rear i might relocate it to. i washed the tank and it does have rust. not a lot but . i also looked at the gas gage and that is going to get replaced it is about wore out ,loses contact with the windings of the resistor in spots. that is about it for today . it is hot hot and humid.
