dot no for windshield glass

while in texas i got peppered by rock in dallas on I-35 construction area and i now have a crack in both windshields.
insurance company called and wanted the glass no that is in the center lower corner of the windshield . my numbers werent much help as i have ppg glass and that is not the origional glass.
take a look at your glass and let me know what your numbers are .
1984 310 windshield . should be a no for each side.

I posted the numbers in the other thread, but the DOT number on both sides of mine was DOT 18.

My understanding is that all of the classic shaped motorhomes used the same glass until 92 when the shape changed. I have a unit member that has one of the newer aluminum ones in a DP and it looks like his are the same as mine, but I did not get the tape measure out.

snake bit again !! the new windshields are the correct . but the glass company sent one big long rubber gasket. installer is supposed to cut and fit. "wrong". told installer to stop put the glass away untill he gets the correct rubber gasket. almost had a unit with no windshields. the installers were in the process of removing my old glass, without verifiying that the had the correct glass and gaskets. a few unkind words got their attention. and they knew i wasnt about to let them remove any thing untill i was sure they had the materila to complet the install. they final was the glass company was going to jackson center for a gasket. guess i will put the rig in the storage shed for now.

well no gasket yet. duncan systems is the contractor for state farm insurance and they havent done the job to my satisfation.
going to have a talk with my agent and demand that some one get it in gear. took my son deer hunting and it rained . couldnt believe it but the windshield was leaking. not much but it was.
i looked at the glass and the dot no s are on the out side edge of the glass. will post numbers when i get the glass installed.

The gasket is available form Coach Glass but it when I did mine they had to order and it would take 2 weeks. I ordered it from AS and only took about a week and was cheaper. If you need a number I will try and find it, but I just called the local AS dealer and they ordered it.

got the part no from airstream and provided it to duncan systems four working days before jackson center closed for the holidays. didnt think the gasket would be the hang up. i have covered storage to protect the unit from the rain. i have a trip planned for mid jan and it will probably rain. and i probably will be wating for the gasket.

windshield are installed . took coach out from storage and parked in driveway so the neighbors could see my new windshiekds, it rained and the windshield gasket leaked. glass company came buy and injected some sealer into the gasket., plann to hose the windshields down tomorrow and insure they are not leaking.
took pictures of the glass numbers only one came out. will try again tomorroe for better jpgs.
