Smile Brake line replacement!

Hello all,
I am new to the forum and very excited to a part of the airstream community. My wife and I are proud new owners of a 2005 LY30 non slide, it is currently in the shop and all the break lines are being replaced front to rear. I am wondering how much this may cost me for this break job? If anyone has been through this before information provided will be greatly appreciated.

(More about us)

We are selling our home in Maine and heading across the country with our two boys and our 2002 VW EuroVan MV in tow for day trips ect... Maine to Florida, along the southern coast, up to Washington and back to Florida (and everywhere in between). Ultimately our plan is to be a full time RV family and do not plan to buy another home or apartment for a very long time. If anyone has any tips or advice please do share.

Thank you so much in advance... We are very excited!

Congratulations on your acquisition and welcome to the forums. I just had disc brakes and brake lines installed on my Classic 30 trailer and it took about 2-3 hours of labor. Labor and material prices vary widely, so your best estimate for the repair should be from the shop that has it. In Florida, it is a legal requirement for auto repair shops to give an estimate and get it acknowledged before starting work. It may not apply in RV shops and Maine may not have a similar law, but the shop is still your best bet. Total price for the brake line part of my job, including the lines I bought, was in the $350-$400 range. I'm guessing at the labor because I had axles replaced and calipers mounted in addition to running the lines to the calipers, but I ran the main line from the actuator to the vicinity of the first caliper.

I am getting a price today so we shall see. I would usually do the work myself however; for one we just bought it and two I wouldn't be able to get it up the icey snowy hill going to my house, it's bad enough with my suv or jeep.

So in the end the total was $732.05. $200 for the tow because it was stuck in ice and snow, new engine battery $128.24, all new brake lines $85, oil change $23 and $236 for labor (4 hrs @ $59/hr.

The total bill isn't too bad considering the length of brake lines to replace.
