88 P30 chassis. What transmission would I have?

Due to family health issues, vehicle has sat for almost 3 months. Got in it yesterday, fired up nicely. Let it warm up for ~5 minutes. Storage lot has a steep incline to exit gate, had no issues. Another 75 yards relatively level and then a short steep incline to the roadway. Could not make the final move under full throttle & low range, it sat & creeped seemingly inch by inch.

Backed up twice & encountered the same issue each time. Transmission did not seem to be slipping, just like it wasn't fully engaging. It had been in Low range from departure. Finally on the 3rd attempt I was able to enter the highway.

What issue(s) am I looking at? I didn't check fluid cause I was time constrained. The last time I checked it, fluid looked & smelled fine.

You've probably got a TH400 trans. The 4L80E didn't come in until 1990.

Are you sure it's not a fuel issue, either old fuel, blocked filter, carb issue or pump?
