82 310 turbo diesel

I'm having to replace the fuse panel in the dash of an 82 airstream motorhome i couldn't find an exact match to the original i found one very close through summit racing. I took the old panel and removed the clips and replaced them to match the same slots in the new one. There are wires that splice a dozen times and not like factory in line fuses like someone messing up. The taps i replaced the ones that existed. I have no power at all now and I can't find any kind of diagram that tells me what the wires coming through the firewall into the fuse panel are and what they need to connect to. I feel i bit off more than i can chew and i really want to get this working for my customer. Thanks all

Yep, typical Airstream wiring. What makes things worse is the older the Airstream the more people that have fiddled with the wiring.

Your best bet is to find a GM chassis manual for an 81 or 82 P30. I believe the wiring should be typical for GM vehicles of the era. Even a 1-ton pickup manual should get you close.

Unfortunately for you this task is going to be difficult because Airstream didn't do a very good job of documenting their additions to the wiring.

If it was me, I would tackle getting the chassis components to work first and then delve into the Airstream wiring.

Good luck.

Brad

These aren't for the diesel, but they might help...

Hope your "customer" isn't reading this.

Good luck getting things running again. What was the original problem?
