Window guides

Just bought new positioning guides at the factory and now am trying to figure out how to replace them. Has anyone done this on a '71 Safari? Drilling out the pop rivets isn't any problem. How do you remove the split washer that holds the pin that pivots in the window bracket? The arm doesn't seem to be removable at the other end, even with the interior handle removed.

Dan,

You first must remove the screen with the window closed. The edns of the lift arms come off with a allen wrench. Then after you drill out the rivets the arm can be pulled out of the plastic step retainer. If the old ones are bad you can just cut the retainer, but remember to put the arms back in before you begin to rivet.
