Serenity twins? Is it possible?

Hello - thank you for reading my post.

My family and I really like everything about Serenity 27....except the Serenity doesn't come in a twin. My question is whether they will put in twins at the factory if you ask. Has anyone done this? As always, I appreciate your wisdom and advice. BTW - visited Colonial Airstream in NJ yesterday...what great people!

Many thanks
AK

If you visited Colonial why didn't you ask them? The answer however is no. None of the Internationals are offered with twin beds.

It should be easy to take out the Queen and put in the twins.
Any cabinet shop can make up the base to your liking, or do it yourself.
I've done this myself in other trailers and it was easy and a bit fun - you can configure storage under both from the inside and outside (I bought two hatches for the outside), and storage was better than before. Upper cabinets, if they interfere can be modified by yourself or a cabinet shop.

Twin beds

I would suggest rather than modifying an International Serenity, go to the Flying Cloud 27FB with twins already installed. There is little difference between the two and some folks prefer the overhead cabinets of the FC.

Having owned the 27FB Queen, I can attest to the lack of extra storage one has when both ends of the trailer are panoramic windows.

Another consideration is the FC 26U, a more efficient bathroom IMO. This would of course require the twin modification.

I checked their website. 25fb Serenity with twins. Looks factory. It has the front storage which wouldn't be there if they modified the queen bed version. I wonder if someone special ordered it from Airstream via Vogt and then they bailed on the order.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and comments. I actually did ask Lauren at Colonial Airstream about a Serenity twin and she said she would look into it. Seeing the one mentioined at Vogt RV in Texas makes me think something is possible. We'll see. The thing is, my family likes the white trim in the Serenity. And yes, the alternative would be the 27 Flying Cloud twin.

Many thanks again for your helpful information.

If the factory is not able to do the twin it is a reasonably simple alteration to do afterwards.

When we convert a queen to a Twin we usually make the space under one bed all inside storage and the other to all outside storage. This gives you space for lawn chairs golf clubs etc. This is also less expensive as there is only one exterior compartment to add.

In August, I inquired about ordering a 30' International with Twins. My dealer was able to obtain a quote from the factory for an upcharge. Can't remember how much it was going to be. We ended up going with the Classic.

At the same time, I inquired about deleting the lounge to allow us to install our own recliners. For that, the answer was no.

AK- like the Serenity, the Eddie Bauer is not offered in twins. AS charged us a $2500 up charge to install twins in our 2015 27' EB unit. It may be a more complex change for the Serenity, but I bet they will do it for you, unless their practices have changed since the move to the new plant. Joe

When I was at the factory I discussed twin modification with the service dept. Their point: Because of where the access doors are in twin, you'd have holes in your walls if modified to a queen. However, you can always have a twin made out of a queen without outside access panels on sides.

I'm looking to convert my 2008 Classic 25fb queen to twins. I'd prefer more interior storage than outside storage so I'm not pursuing a new external door hatch on the street side twin or front storage under the nightstand. I would probably only trust Jackson Center to do that work.
