I was told that I can straighten the rear bumper by loosening some bolts and retightening, but I think they need to be bent back straight before tightening due to the rear bath window won't open but a few inches cuz it hits the spare tire holder. This occurred when I bottomed out in a driveway. i thought the air compression should fill those rear bags enough to where it shouldn't do that. Could I just remove the hitch receiver and go it like that so itr doesn't bottom?
My experience has been that on certain angled driveways and side road entries mine will bottom at the rear no matter what. I go really slow to avoid damage. My hitch hits first than the tank dump valve will drag.
It does not happen as often with the bags up, but does still happen depending on the angle of departure and approach.
As for your rear window not opening..is there any space at the top of it where it can be adjusted? It would seem the rear must have moved up quite a bit if it affected that. You could also check to see if the spare tire mount itself is crooked or bent upward.
So I'll probably keep dragging every once in a while, but must di it verry slowly. OK, but I will still try to adjust the bumper...it just doesn't look starightg across. Thanks Alan.
