Pedestal Table

I was reading my manual and it states that in the 370 the pedestal table is "permanent". Can I convert it so it can come out/down?

I would like to have the option when the table is not in use to free up some floor space and possibly make it so that someone can sleep on the L-shaped booth (a child).

Anyone tried this? It seems that the 370 can only sleep four comfortably (two in the bedroom and two on the convertible couch).

Was the answer so simple that I just made myself look like an idiot?

I never heard of telescoping pipes for this table - will any do (is it universal fit)? Do I get them from an RV store or specialty store?

No simple answer to that question.
You would have to have it custom made by a metal shop.
Like a smaller pipe inside a bigger pipe, held up by some locking mechanism.
Looking at the position of your table, you would also need a slide mechanism that would move the table top a few inches towards the sink to clear the seat cushion.
Your model is the first I have seen with that kind of a table.

Actually, the seat cushion can be lifted out, so I just have to deal with the telescoping legs.

I would like to be able to utilize the table to make the bench more "bed-like".

In my manual, the pedestal table was under a heading called "Pedestal Table" and it uses an asterisk (*) to call out the fact that the pedestal table in the 370 is permanent. This leads me to believe that other pedestal tables in other models were not permanent. I wonder if those tables used some sort of telescoping legs or other way to make them convertible. Perhaps I can just order the convertible/telescoping legs from Airstream? I'll call them tomorrow to check.

Most of the RV stores sell bases (for the floor and the bottom of the table) and legs to fit in them. Check there.

the non permanent tables are removed by pulling the support tube out of the whole in the floor, and then plugging the hole with a wood piece. My AS has two of these that go in front of the couch and almost "mate" to the folded out dinette table forming a T. Great for dinnertime.
You might be able to get a shorter tube to support your table at the height where some foam mattress thing could cover the table top and the couch area making it one bigger bed. Not sure if your table will be supportive enough for this though.
