number of A/S MH

I know I've seen numbers thrown around of A/S production recently but is there any record or knowledge out there of the number of A/S Motorhomes for specific years? I would be interested to find out how rare or non-rare our MH really is?

I don't think firm numbers are available, as Fred has tried before to find out for his website. It would be nice to know how many of our rigs are truly out there....

Curtis's 79 MH Airstream VIN is M28T9V5142
My 79's number is M28T9V5143
Since they didn't make 5143 in 79, one could assume they made at least 143. So how about 200. None in 1980.
We also heard that they only made like 20 370's in 89 and something like 12 250's in 92.
If seen at least 10-15 different 1985 345's for sale in the last year or two. Are they another 85 in hiding? 15 years production of the silver bullet MH @150/year average=2250?????
I really don't think that production numbers per year were much higher than that. The Avion Class C Motorhome I used to own was one of 148 made over a span of 3 years.

Guestimation

I had guessed about 2000 produced... probably over 75% still on the "road" or usable. The rest lost forever due to wrecks, weather damage, or (don't say it) parting out for profit.

Either way, we still have something very special...although you already knew that!!!
