no brake lights

Can someone tell me what would cause the cruise control and the brake lights to stop working? We have checked all the fuses. The running lights, directionals, flashers and back up lights all work. This is a 2005 LandYacht Gas Motorhome that we purchased new from a dealer 100 miles away only three months ago.

The stoplight switch is probably defective. The cruise control cancels when the brake lights apply, and the crusie module uses feedback from the switch to make sure it is working before it engages. It could be as simple as the switch being unplugged, or the plug is loose.
There are a few other things it could be, but this is the easiest to fix, cheapest, and most likely thing.

Please, Moho experts?

Hi libbysmom -- and a big welcome to the Forums of the whole world as we know it!

I'll leave open your principal question. But I passed over a dealer an hour from here to purchase my 2006 Safari from one about 5 hours away. If I had these issues I'd be on the phone -- and figure it was no big deal to drive your 100 miles just to show them! (notwithstanding the urban East I guess...)

Okay everybody else -- got any ideas?

brake light

Dont know if this helps, but my brake lights regularly fail. The solution I found accidently was to disconnect and reconnect the multi pin connector located underneath the rear of the coach near the hitch. Sometimes just wiggling it works. You can identify it as the wires run up to the tail/brake lights and the other end goes forward into a bundle. When the connection is not tight the transmission also jumps out of gear and or locks up. Airstream engineering advised me that it would be acceptable to remove the connector and hard wire the matching wires. Good luck

brake lights not working

Thanks for your input. I had my local mechanic take a look at it today since the dealer can't see it until the middle of June, and all he could find was a blown fuse, but we replaced them yesterday. So I will show him your comments, stock up on fuses and keep my appointment in June and see how we manage Memorial Weekend.

libbysmom, I don't have anything to add, except I saw your post and wanted to say I haven't seen Tewksbury in a while. I grew up in Billerica, used to work at Lawrence Airport and fly into TMac airport and get lunch at the McDonalds on Route 38.

Good luck with your LY.
