New P-3X series Workhorse Chassis

Check out the GM Workhorse division's website. Lots of info and pics of the modern version of the chassis under our Airstream motor homes. The new 8.1 liter Vortec engine for those needing more power, 340 ponies 455 ftlbs torque. Four wheel disk anti-lock brakes, Hydra-matic 4L80E auto 4 speed, electronic control with cooler and on and on....

FYI- Workhorse is not a GM Division. They sold the P30 business several years ago in their continuing quest to become an auto assembler and it became Workhorse.

Still GM engines, trans, axles. They have to use these components for X years (can't remember exactly how long) as part of the deal. P30 was never a large production number for GM, I know it was built as a sideline in 3 different plants in a 20 year period.

I did not know that either. Our local Chev truck center talks like they are still part of GM. Oh well, I guess unless they can sell a million of them in a year they consider it low production. I do see this chassis under alot and I mean alot of motorhomes these days. KK do you have the 8,1 Vortec? Im wondering how that engine performs and the MPG you are getting.
