Motorhome club name
We had talked earlier about a name for our group and organizing like the Vintage Airstream Club has unber WBCCI (even though it may be difficult and may take years). Any more thoughts?
Classic Motorhome Club
Classic Airstream Motorhome Club (true niche)
Tin Can Motorhomes
Airstream Motorhome Club (to be more inclusive)
Any other ideas....or drop the idea.
Maybe after collecting ideas I'll do a poll.
I am thinking about expanding my website to include the newer box motorhomes.

Fred,
Have you checked out The Classic Caravan Club ( www.geocities.com/classiccaravanclub)? although they allow trailers as well they are geared towards the classic AS's. I dont think the WBCCI would approve a MH intraclub that would exclude the box'ers. Would the club have to be part of WBCCI, why couldnt it be an independent club? it would be an alternative for those not wishing to be part of WBCCI.
Just my thoughts-
John

Fred,
It may be difficult to get a new special interest club under WBCCI, but I wonder if we could organize under the Vintage Airstream Club (VAC) as a sub-chapter??? That would allow for some exclusivity. A lot of the motorhomes are not "vintage" but they do share some of the unique features of limited production and that they are rarely seen.
This could then allow for segregated parking like they do for the Vintage units etc.
If we want to strike out on our own with a individual Motorhome Airstream Club (MAC) we will need to develop a club charter, as well as applying for intraclub status with WBBCI headquarters. In order to be as open as possible we would need to include all Airstream motorhomes, Classic, fiberglass and B-vans as well as the new class C that is coming. I am aware of B-van rallies that are held in the Midwest and they have a page dedicated to them in the Blue Beret (the WBCCI Club magazine).
SO if this is something that enough of us want to pursue I think it can be done. We may want to hold a meeting of some type at Mystic Springs to address this. I will do some legwork to find out more on the WBCCI end, as I am already a member.

Don't think so. I have a classic MH but wouldn't want to be segregated from any other AS out there. Can't we all just get along?

WOW! I started that over 7 years ago. Yikes. I'm old! My site now has 345 units posted and I have the box motorhomes and trailers and even started another site for all RV's called ViewRVs.com.
We tried a few classic MH get togethers. It proved to be very difficult. I would suggest that the MH owners attend their WBCCI state rally or the International Rally. Rumor has it there are usually a bunch there each summer.
The biggest change since 2002 is the growth of this website and the addition of the MH groups.
