I was checking the archives for lock repair. someone suggested using a "bargeman L-300" will this fit the deadbolt in the handle on the coach? Where does one find such a lock? What about the deadbolt assemby itself??...thanks....Vbob

Keeler lock

Our 1981 Excella motorhome has a Keeler handle and lock. The replacement cylinder and keys are the only parts available; we replaced ours a couple of weeks ago. The are available through

Code Name Quantity Price/Ea. Total
31-8216 Keeler Lock Cylinder & Keys 1 $14.95

When the cylinder wears out the door handle cannot be locked from the outside.

I ordered the Keeler cylinder and keys for my 1979 Motorhome last week from the above mentioned company and just recieved it.

I installed it and it works perfectly, it was an easy job to do and took about 15 minutes, I greased up the innerds while I had it apart and it made it easier to operate.

I had this thread saved in my favorites for along time, it came in handy when it was time to order the part, thank you for posting it!

Door lock

I have a 1978 31ft Soveriegn. Looks like the same door handle. Mine is pretty worn out. Do you think it fits the trailer as well?

I replaced my Keeler tumbler for the 82. It fit right in and has worked like a charm ever since. Got it from Three Way Campers here in Marietta, GA. They also have an online catalogue.

Will the Keeler tumbler fit my 1989 Excella trailer door lock? The lock works most of the time but the key works in both directions and some takes a few trys to turn the key to the right spot to unlock the door.
