Knocked off dump valves!

As I was leaving Curcuit City after they installed my new stereo system, I made a hard right to get past a fence and my tail hit a tree...knocked off the sewer pipe that you dump grey and black tanks from. I was pissed (no pun), yet it was a full moon and I guess it had to happen.
I saw that although the two pipes can go back into a sleeve on each of the tanks, the dump valve on one of them is sheared off. So I think it's gonna have to be all replaced.
I was wondering if it can be made to not stick out so far as to be exposed to another hit in the future. I'll be taking it to an RV specialist this week.

The tanks were empty, and the skin did get scratched. Will have to buff it out...maybe spot paint. This rig has been painted silver. I still love her tho, and can't wait to get it fixed for next weekend camping with the kids. BTW, my other post about the side mirrors, guess when that happened?? When I backed up after hitting the tree...got snagged on the fence! I said to myself, crap (no pun), what else can go wrong today?

you must have known all along, because you emptied the tanks. Or else the #*%@ would have hit the fence.

Why not just replace the old dump valve with an electric one, such as the DrainMaster. That way, you can put the valve wherever you desire, and the remote switch will open and close it. The valve does not have to be very accessible.

The length of pipe from the valve to the termination cap can be routed as needed, without worrying about how accessible the valve is.

Ahhhhh yes....that is what I've been waiting to hear. I love those type of gadgets, and I will ask my RV guy about it. Thank you very much.
After the two incidents happened within one minute of each other, and I cleaned up the glass and pieces of plastic, I attempted to start the engine. NOTHING!!! The guys at the store hooked up a battery charger/starter type machine and it still wouldn't start! Tried to call my roadside assistance on my cell...every number I called was "call failed". Had to call the next day to re-program my phone...took a half hour on the phone with ATT tech support. Called my roadside service from the store and they said 45 minutes. Waited 15, then went to see if it would start. Noticed that the gear shift was still in D, so I put it in park and it started like a champ. I must have been so flustered that I turned off the ignition with it in gear! What a day that was!
I called myself an idiot when I got home, and my youngest son, who's 8 said that the devil makes us say that, and that this was merely a minor setback (ALBEIT EXPENSIVE ) and that Jesus went through alot worse. WOW. How they grow fast. Anyway, he made me feel better.
