That's a pretty common problem. See if the seller can e-mail you a series of digital pictures. Maybe you could agree on an independant inspection (at your expense most likely). After the inspection, put a deposit down subject to your approval. If it's a bomb, you lose your deposit but avoid a money pit. In the end, life's a risk. We can only minimize our exposure.
I was fortunate. I located mine 5 hours away and saw it 24 hours. The price was too good to pass up.
