Diesel 396
I am considering the purchase of a 2002 396 with the 330 Cat diesel on a Freightliner frame. Does anyone have any comments on the quality/durability of this A/S diesel pusher? Also I am concerned about the stated cargo carrying capacity (CCC) of 1524#; it is considerably less than other brands. Finally, the unit has a recall to replace the front tires (255/80R22.5) with Michelin XZA1 275/70R 22.5) to increase load capacity. Should the rear tires also be replace, i.e., are they undersized as well? The rears are the same as the front originally had. I noticed that competitive coaches typically run 275 or 295 tires.
We are full timers with a 5th wheel trailer. This will be our first motorhome.
