Changes between airstream years

Does anyone know if there is there changes they made on Airstreams from 1948 to 1949? i have been told
"The pipe frame was strengthened slightly in 1949 by adding another 3′ section of pipe inside the front most 3 feet near the hitch."
Anyone have information?
