Audible buzz in av system

We have a new 25 foot flying cloud and are just learning about using the radio and using our paired ipad and iPhone playing our iTunes. We have noticed a buzz that sounds like interference from somewhere. Any advice or can anyone tell us what is causing this?

When do you hear the buzz? Only on shore power? Only on Bluetooth, or also on other sources? Do you have any fluorescent lighting? Dimmers? LED lighting? Try turning everything on and off and see if you can identify the source. Disconnect shore power and run on battery. You get the idea. Anything that uses power could be the interferer. Turn Bluetooth off on everything but one music source.

Interference problems are difficult to diagnose. Good luck!

If speaker wires are run too close to 120vAC wiring, it's not uncommon to hear a 60Hz hum. The cause is usually the induction current surrounding the 120vAC wiring, and the speaker wire acting as an antenna to pick up the induction current.

The best fix I know of is to reroute the speaker wires away from the 120v wires. If you can't reroute the speaker wire, you may want to replace it with shielded wire (which is not the same as insulated wire; insulation doesn't provide shielding).

I eventually found my issue with buzzing was caused by a bad ground while on shore power. My power cord had a burned connection at both ends. I replaced the cord and the connection at the trailer and now no buzz. I had been trying to isolate the issue of speaker wires, sub woofer and all of the connections but didn't have any luck.

Audible buzz in av system

My new solar charger has a desulfurization mode that was interfering with the av system. Connecting the charger directly to the battery solved that problem. I've also found that setting my iPhone near radios and even alarm clocks in hotel rooms can make them buzz. Don't know if it's the cellular signal or wifi. Its especially noticeable in the jets I fly. When they tell you to turn your electronic devices off for takeoff and approach, they are not just trying to be a PITA.
