Argosy Airstream MH front windows the same?
To settle a bet---
Will an Argosy windshield fit an Airstream MH? and vice versa?
How much should one expect to pay for a windshield.
thanks

Jim,
Don't know about the interchangeable windshield, but had one put in my 1978 Argosy by Benswinger (??) Glass on S. Campbell in August '06 and seems like it cost about $300 or so.

A friend of mine offered me his 1974 or 1973 argosy MH, it is a 20 footer, basically for hauling away. It runs, has genset, needs cleaning but the recent ice storm sent limbs through both windshields.
I suggested to my wife (RLee1120) that instead of buying a 3/4 ton suburban we buy this Argosy and fix it for a tow vehicle.
It wasn't met with much enthusiasm.
We have two grandsons and only a pickup to pull the AS. We want something with more seats to take them with us. And this won't pull it either:

People have jokingly suggested we use our 28' Argosy MH to pull our 32' Airstream. Quite a train. Your length would be about the same as my pickup and trailer. However, visability and manueverability might be an issue. Ha Don't be surprized if you get several suggestions on the forum that you should have two of each.

Argosy Airstream MH front windows the same
Well i would bet 10 it is anyways i know some people are going to tell you lots of storys heres my take on it Most 20 ft Argosys came with 350 chevys a few with 454's. If you were lucky enough to find one with the 454 I think this would be a great vehicle to pull an airstream trailer with and the 20 footer wouldnt be much longer than a suburban you could literaly park it in any shopping center and park downtown in most spots Just remember It will not go in underground parking lots LOL LOL Wayner

Wayner, what you're suggesting is exactly what we plan on doing with our 20' Argosy motorhome. We also have a 1974 Excella 500 31' trailer that is being converted to a two car race car hauler. So we're looking at a combined length of about 51 feet. Not to bad! We currently have the 454 out of the Argosy and its being rebuilt.
Sometime in the future we might even have them finished. Just don't hold your breath .

That is a great price, can you find out where they got the glass so cheap?

I'd like to know where to find one at that price as well. The drivers side windshield on our 310 is cracked at the bottom. Its apparently been that way for a LONG time and it doesn't appear that it will crack any farther but it would sure be nice to have a spare "just in case" .
Thanks!
