'92 MH-Ext Finish

I'm a new owner who doesn't have an another late model classic to look at.
My engine cover ( the removalble panel on the front) needs to be refinished as the outline of the former WB #'s show. My panel is painted silver but in some pictures this panel looks like it natural metal. Can anyone tell me what is orginal? Thanks.

Most of the classic motorhomes are natural metal with clear coat on it. Since the "hood" is removeable you could strip and recoat with the spray can clear coat that is available. The silver paint was more than likely an attempt to fix chipped clear coat from rocks and bugs.
