Ok, ignore the swirl marks on the 1st pass on the polish, as soon as the rest of my nuvite stuff comes in the mail Monday I'll finish the polishing, but check out the new shoes... rechromed baby moons from the forums classifieds, powder coated stock rims and new tires...

Megan has the curtains and cushions done, all the water system is done, well except I have yet to test the pressure tank, will do that this weekend. All the fresh water lines tested, as are the waste lines and black tank, new toilet, shower etc.

Definately Marcus, Jason, our 4 year old has been spending a lot of time in the trailer "helping" me by handing plumbing fittings, or touring neighbors/friends stopping by to say hello. Will be fun to have some family time in it next weekend!

Scott, Your restoration is so accurate except for some hidden items that no one is going to worry about a little trim. Are you going to bring some red sand you found in the belly? Where could it be from???????

Ordered Sunday night... look what arrived today..

More pictures to come this evening. Couch ends cleaned up, supports rebuilt and installed, kitchen overhead cabinet doors reinstalled with catches rebuilt, lots of trim installed on cabinets etc. 2 wardrobe doors reskinned, and right now working on the pantry divider and shelves. Goal is tomorrow to have all the cabinet work done so Megan can start unloading all the tradewind's boxes from the shed and move in to all the cabinets and drawers while I finish up the rest of the cosmetics and mechanical lose ends.

- install sink cabinet latches

No problem Scott. I'm sure glad you could see through all of the mess and missing items in the beginning to see the finished product. Some folks think that "all it takes is time and money" but it takes more than that. It takes the vision to see the diamond in the rough; to see it as a canvas that needs restoring back to original only better. You'd done a marvelous recreation of the original and I'll just bet that when you're able to get out on the road and let it all sink in and relax, you'll be grinning from ear to ear with a strong sense of accomplishment as well you should. Kudos to you!!

You still needing some Byam hooks?

Thanks Brad, yeah we're starting to feel good about things, though the stress isn't going away until everything is really ready for this weekend. Megan finished sewing the last edges on the couch today, and this evening I actually put away enough tools that she could put it in place.

Yeah we're still looking for a few hooks to cover the holes from missing ones. Still not available at VTS. Please keep an eye out for me!

Help!!

So we have great working burners on the cooktop, but having oven issues.

The red circle (thermostat/oven control) and what I believe to be the gas control for the oven (green circle)

Lit the pilot lights for the oven and the burners. Burners each light correctly.

turned on the oven, after about 30 seconds the oven turned on, we celebrated, however I turned the oven control to off, and the oven kept going. Not sure where to even go from here. Any suggestions?

Exciting day, did a quick pass with the cyclo, have lots more polishing to do this summer, but it looks pretty good from about 25 feet.

Megan was able to move most of the camping gear that was in storage after selling the 69. Feels good to see stuff going in and the shed getting empty.

Got the water heater door built and installed as inspired from the earlier forums thread.

first rally, first night/trip in 8671 since we took it on. No major mechanical issues over the 5 days. Met lots of great people, saw many awesome trailers too.

Jon Goldman was there, his parents were on the caravan. He came back during open house and let me hold and look at the plaque that all trailers received. Flyfshr has been helping with recreating it, but was amazing to hold. nearly 1/4" thick solid brass, with threaded studs that go all the way through the trailer, and sure enough it lined up with the "ghost" on the outside of the trailer and we realized there were matching rivet holes on the inside too where it used to bolt in.

I'm hoping that we can make a nearly exact replica for our trailer and the other ATW trailer owners that want one too.

So glad you were able to get out and spend a few nights on the road with the 8671. Yea, I've also held one of those. The one I held was PeeWee's and it was amazing just how thick it was. You got better pictures than I did though.

Hey Brad, how's the new gig going? Have you had any chance to take a look at that artwork for Steve? I sure appreciate all your hard work on it.

Does anyone out there know who baught the Around the World Caravan poster off the forums classifieds? Joe didn't, I didn't, but hoping whoever did would entertain letting it be copied full size for those of us that weren't so lucky.
