Tires?

What tires would you Bambi II owners recommend? I have 14 inch 5 lug wheels. Putting in a new axle and thought it would be a good time to go ahead and get new tires. The old ones are about 6 or 7 years old and the side walls are starting to look a bit dried out. I might go with 15 inch wheels, so opinions on both sizes would be welcome.

just pulled the wheels off my 64 bambi too and found my axle, wheels and tires need replacing. did you go with the dexter from inland? how much did the complete axle set you back? also just wondering if you replaced your belly skins. i had to remove mine and now i need some new ones. im pretty handy but im not sure i could do those skins justice with the bending of the corners and such..

These goodlooking reliable 15" tires would look good on your camper.

I am getting my axle from Colin Hyde. Very stand up guy that does not trash talk the competition. Both sellers products come from the same plant. Cost was $495 plus shipping. Complet axle, hubs, brakes and all mounting hardware. I don't believe everything one of the sellers is saying trying to push his product. Going to have to get around to replacing part of the under belly one of these days, not that important to me now. Apparently a few years ago the PO had a blow out and sort of back alley fixed the damage caused by the flying rubber.

Thanks carl, I have been a big fan of yokohama tires for many years and have had them on several street and race cars.

Not only that....it even looks like an AS wheel.

Bob, I had Geolanders on my Jeep, great AT tires. It has now been replaced by the Xterra and I will probably put Geolanders on it when I have to get new tires. I still need to decide if I am going to go up to 15 inchers for the Bambi, I should have plenty of room for them after I get the new axle. Right now it would be a tight fit I think. Little thing is setting pretty far down on her rims.
