I have the pie shaped fiberglass black tank in my
1964 Bambi. All looked good when re-gelling the fiberglass. Adapter made for Valterra dump valve. Installed and plumbed. Today I added 5 gallons of fresh water. I thought all was good- then noticed a drip underneath (almost OK when it is fresh water!!)
Initially thought it was where the plastic adapter attached to the tank, but it appears the fiberglass around the original cast-in brass thread plate was wet...so I think it must have a leak in the actual fiberglass around that fitting.
There is some small cracking inside the tank as seen in the one photo. Underside, all looks solid.
Can the inside of a fiberglass tank be sealed? How would one go about that? If this is not an option, I guess we will finish out this camping season with the port-a-potty and have a stainless tank fabricated next year.
Thanks for any insight!!
