Bambi II Back Up Lights?

My Bambi II does not have back up lights. Did they originally come with them?

My information indicates that backup lights were an option on all 1964 Airstreams. I suspect that this aplied to the 1964 Bambi II as well, but do know that there were some exceptions regarding option availability on Bambi IIs. My notest indicate that the terminated wires were included on all coaches permitting dealers to install them upon owner request (very similar fixtures continue to be available today).

Good luck with your investigation!

Kevin

I suspect you will find the wire for them at the trailer end of the umbilical cord. I would suggest that if you put back up lights on that you place them in the front of the wheel wells. My trailer is a tri axle so they are placed at the pivot point. I say this because it is the position of the wheels and what is along the side of the trailer that you are most interested in while backing into a site. I use car flood lights for this as they are 100 times brighter than any backup light installed in the rear light fixture.

To wire the lights run 1/4 in aluminum or copper tubing across the belly pan from where you can pick up the wire at the front of the trailer to the upper inside of the wheel well. Tie a note in a heavy string and using compressed air blow the string through the tubing. Now pull your wire through and mount and wire the light.

I would of never thought of using compressed air to push a line thru. Excellant idea.
