65 Toilet Replacement

Hey guys, new owne here r these forums have been amazing and you guys are awesome. Working on our new to us 65 Caravel. Prior owner did a great job but we want to make a few more improvements.

The toilet has been replaced and the wood was shored up. Platform seems stable but toilet wobbles. It appears due to the funky angle on the sidewalk the toilet does not fit right. The toilet flange was cut and modified to fit but I am not pleased. The current toilet is a thetford aqua magic with two bolts that I see. Anyone have any advice on what brand and model will fit the weird Caravel shaped platform?

Need something with a really narrow base. Looks like some have used the seal and traveler but I think sealand sold out to dometic. Looks like the domestic 510 might be the answer but would love some advice. Thanks.

toilet

Hi Maggie,

I replaced my original toilet with a sealand traveller about 10 yrs ago. It fit in the space using the original flange but it does wobble a bit. Sounds like your flange may have been modified? I would suggest you talk to the folks at vintage trailer supply or dometic to see what current dometic model would be the right fit. On mine the flush pedal is on the left side (facing the toilet), don't know if there is as much room on the right side of the toilet if the current models have the pedal on that side.

Anxious to see if you found a replacement. Our 65 is missing the toilet.

I replaced my toilet. 67 caravel.
I used an elongated Dometic 320.
If you look at the drawings of the different toilets out there you can make templates of the toilets to see which will work for you.
Good luck with your project!
Any questions I'm happy to answer if i can.
