Question Will Water Pump Work on Battery?

Taking my "new" 1969 Caravel out for the 2nd time....and this time will be dry camping. The previous owner told me the switch at the sink is for the water pump. Does this work on battery? If not, guess I am out of luck for water in sink and commode. Please let me know....explain with short words as if talking to your grandma who doesn't know much about her Caravel, but is more than willing to learn.

The water pump is a 12 volt device, it runs off the battery or the convertor when plugged into shore power.

the pump and any other 12 volt device will work off the battery. Your house items like fridge, a/c, microwave and such will not. There is a converter you can buy, small and not expensive, that will let you run some small applainces off the battery as well. It converts 12v to house type current. Be aware though that without a generator or solar re-charging system, the battery will only last so long, depending also on how healthy it is. Be sure to check its water inside the cells if it has removable lids, and check its charge to see if it is full. You can do that with a voltage meter.
