Caravel replacement roller shades???

So we want to -- no NEED to -- replace all the spring loaded roller shades in our 1970 Caravel. Widths are about 42", 29", 21" 18" and 35".

Do I have to customize these widths myself or is there somewhere I can get the right shades (with rollers, springs etc)? The springs are still functional -- I suppose I can buy a big vinyl shade, cut it up and staple the top edge to the existing roller.

Does Home Depot or Lowe's have the range of sizes I need? I thought they had only standard sizes (which never =s what you need!!)

And the web sites I've found through searches want to charge me lots of $$'s for fancy things I don't want.

help, Melissa

Around here, both Lowes & Home Depot sell a brand of roller shades that they cut to size. Just give them the length and they cut them for you. I don't know the quality. And I think the color choices are limited to just white and a neutral beige....

Roller Shades

Length is not the issue. Width is. Do they also cut them width-wise?

You can make your own shades

IF the roller mechanism is viable, you can make your own shades. That's what I did to replace the worn shade on our 75 Argosy in the galley.

My use of term "length" was for width... I was thinking 1D (as when it's rolled up) vs 2D. It's all in the communication - or so I'm told!
