What's in your rear bumper drawer?

I'm just wondering what other people keep in this drawer. Mine's empty. I just purchased my '97 AS in August. I looked into the drawer while inspecting prior to purchasing, and haven't looked into it since. The owner's manual says to pack heavier items towards the front of the rig which excluded a couple of items I had in mind to toss in there.

So, what do others keep in their rear bumper drawer? Is it waterproof and dust proof?

I think I figured out that "drawer" is designed for storing water hoses. There are drain holes in the bottom of my drawer and after tearing down I cant seem to get all the water out of my hoses -- but I can just toss it in that drawer and not worry if the water leaks out !! I also keep a broom and car wash brush in there ...

PS : I just noticed you have a 30' limited like mine - dont see too many of those !! Very NICE

Its neither water or dust proof. I keep the power cord, some sewer connections and various adapters, ( ie 30 to 20 amp and 30 t0 50 amp).

Hi, my trailer doesn't have a rear bumper drawer, it has a storage compartment where I keep my sewer hoses, awning rod, and porch mat.

I've got sewer slinkies and related fittings, a bunch of p.t. wood blocks for the stabilizers and a pair of short wood ramps for leveling when setting up. Oh, and the sending unit for the external thermometer is glued to the underside of the cover.

We bought one of those small plastic folding tables from costco. I dont mind if it gets wet or dirty. If fits perfect in the drawer and is not too heavy.

Thumbs up

The drawer on our Classic is a slide-out directly under the bumper.

175' of water hose..

extra propane tanks for the Barbie..

several lengths of 3/4"x6" boards for leveling..

odds & ends while camping..

definately NOT waterproof on our Classic, water runs right off the bumper over the lip and into the drawer, drilled extra holes to help drain and I tape over the opening when storing to help keep the water out.

I keep my slinky in a 4" tube hung right behind the rear axle. I never use it anymore ( I carry it just in case) because in the bumper storage is my Sewer Solution, drain hoses, sewer couplings and a colaspible rake. That pretty much fills that. Fresh water hoses and power cords are separate storage locker. To minimize the little bit of water left in hoses either couple the 2 ends together or get the caps that plug the ends.

Our rear bumper compartment has a lid and is about 6" deep. We keep our power cord, adapters, and cable TV cord in there...

Power cords and wheel blocks.

The sewer hose goes in an external tube with easy access at the rear.

Like a couple of others, I keep all my power cords in there along with the adaptors - 20A to 30A and 30A to 50A plus the adaptor to a regular plug in addition to my cable for the TV. Right you are - you cannot get the final drips of water out of a hose and it will run all over whatever or wherever it is put UNLESS you simply screw the two ens of the hose together. I don't keep the hose in the bumper compartment, however - it goes, rolled up, in the rear trunk space with tools and leveling wood pieces and plastic levelers. Ain't streamin' fun????

I keep everything in the back drawer except for the fresh water hoses. there's the 25' black hose for gray water drain when allowed, 25' blue hose for extra water (fire) hose, 10' black for connecting to black tank flush, extra 6' green hose, misc. connectors, leveling pads, shovel and fire pit tools. The front has 2-25' and 1-10' fresh water hoses.

Not really the pull out drawer... but this has turned out to be a handy up-grade for all the storage doors.

No more slip'n off or ugly scratches...

From a previous forum inquiry, I understand that this bin is for essential items such as the 30 amp electrical cord (whip) and hoses for emptying the tanks. Is there room for more? I am in the early stages of renovation (69 GT, new floor, shell on) and have this area dismantled. I have the lid but will have to replace the piece of aluminum that supports the lid hinge. While taking apart, I did not notice how the bottom and sides were built. I don't even recall removing a bottom. Can anyone help me with this? I assume the ends are defined by the main frame rails. Just how deep should it be?

My 2009 Flying Cloud 27FB just has a tray in the rear bumper that isn't that large. Like most, I keep power cord, adapters, and wheel chocks there. But I also see what appears to be a slide out drawer on some. Can anyone provide more info on these? Are they factory or aftermarket? What models came with them?

Hi, I like that idea too; It would give me more space in my side storage compartment. I always hold my hoses up as I roll them so all of the water runs out and then I connect the ends to keep things clean.
