What is an Airstream Avalon?

Just saw an ad for an Airstream Avalon. What the heck is that? It's a circa 1970

Sounds like some of the 'not so properly informed' or the ' I'll just add Airstream into my title to grab more site visits' folks. AFAIK, there ain't no such animal. I have seen the Airstream description used liberally and quite inaccurately by people on many occasions. Just because something is aluminum, they think they can use the Airstream name.......

Ditto. Might also be an Avion which is a similar high quality trailer, but not made by Airstream

Could be scammish behavior, but I think Airstream has reached the point where for - better or worse - they've become a genre unto themselves in some peoples' minds.

Like Xerox, or Kleenex... it's an individual brand name that has so thoroughly defined their category that they encompass the whole category.

It could be a Toyota Avalon, too.

How about Avalair? [on edit: or Avion?]

It's pretty common to see other streamlined aluminum trailers on eBay listed with Airstream first; eg, Airstream Avion, Airstream Silver Streak

There is a dealer named Avalon in Ohio which has been an on and off Airstream dealer.
They were very active in the seventies.. It is a long shot but maybe some one is reading the dealer sticker

There is a current ebay ad for a pink 50s park model trailer. Doesn't have a thing to do with Airstream, but comes up in a search under Airstream keyword.

Of course, if it's an Argosy, it's also an Airstream, so that would be technically correct

Google "Avalon Airstream" in quotes. There's a 30' "Avalon Airstream" on Arizona Craigslist. I'll give a 67% chance they are misreading an Avalon Airstream dealer label by the door. Difficult to say exactly what it could be after that.

You are correct...that's the ad. I found the same stuff on the Dealer (Avalon). I'll bet you're right. It struck me as funny when I read her ad though. She has not replied to my email requesting clarification.

Now, that you mention it, our current Airstream (Bertha) came from Avalon. It still has the stickers on the outside, and I even have the keychain with the dealer's name on it.
