Where did you read the serial number? The big blue plaque on the side of the trailer should have a series of numbers and letters stamped on it. These numbers give you the ability to understand where the trailer was built, what year it is , what model it is, and the sequence number of this unit as it corresponds with the other units built that year. The serial number is not the big red numbers on the front and back of the trailer.

Thanks for the reply. The only plaque on the trailer is the serial # 6183. No big red numbers anywhere. Looks like I got my reasurance that its a cruiser. so when I apply for a title do I just give the serial #?

I guess I no longer have the oldest Airstream in Mapleton
Seriously, when you take the bill of sale to the MVD they will give you a VIN verification form. You then call the Mapleton PD and ask them to send an officer over who reads and verifies the VIN. Simple.
If it is a slow day all 4 officers show up just to drool
BTW do not tell the counter person at MVD that you are restoring or for some reason they want to issue a salvage title- Gotta love government regulations.

Hello Kimmie, we stopped by yesterday and met your fam. That Cruiser of yours is pretty cooool. rumrunner has it right about the VIN inspection, and when you do get to hang a plate on the back of your trailer, UT gives you the option of using a vintage plate that is the same year as your trailer(1952). That is if you can find one. Great find, we look forward to meeting you.

I'm trying to determine the year of a Silver Streak Jet from the Vin. How do I do that?
