I wanted to start this thread so owners would have a place to post question, information, and MODs on the modern 27’ Globetrotters.
I currently reside among the 23D Clan (a very active group). I am currently in the market for a new Globetrotter. I’m hoping to carry some if the enthusiasm from our 23D group over to this “New” Thread.
If you are a current or soon to be owner of a modern 27’ Globetrotter please consider this Thread your end all be all home for information, design ideas, repairs, and the all important OverKill engineered MODs, this forum is famous for.
So if your in, Sound Off!

When we get ours I would like to swap the toilet to an elongated bowl Dometic 320.
We installed a 321 in our 23D and it worked out great!
http://www.airforums.com/forums/blog...let-swap-2902/

Can someone give me the measurement from the center of the toilet base to the wall. And the distance between the back of the toilet and the wall?
My best guess is we will need approx 1 1/4” of space between the toilet and wall to have enough room.
See photo below to see measurements needed.

I am moving from at 23 intel fb to my new 27 2019 Globetrotter the end of the month. I love to modify and change things. Not sure why I would change the toilet. Don't spend a lot of time in there.

Looking forward to this thread.

Elongated bowl leaves room for well.....
Also 360 degree bowl flush is nice.
I have one on our current 23D and it’s a very nice to have.

One modification we made to our GT was adding more towel racks in the bathroom. I found the model that AS uses and bought them from Amazon. That has proved to be very useful.

There is so little space I that area of my Globetrotter I can't imagine squeezing more room for an alternate toilet unless you remove some of the lower cabinet next to toilet.

You will be fine. Lots of great friendly help here. It’s not as bad as some make it out to be. Enjoy.

Colonial

My suggestion would be to plan on at least two days at Colonial to thoroughly use every system in the trailer!! Colonial will fix, adjust, replace anything that may need attention, ask your sales person to check every thing before you arrive! There are always items that need attention, I have had several transactions with Colonial and they are a first class operation!!
Your cordial, friendly, understanding attitude will go along way to making the whole experience a great experience.

We have a 2019 Globetrotter 27 FBQ. Our first mod was to install a Nature's Head composting toilet. We had Jackson Center do the work and they did a great job. This allows us to boondock for longer without having to find a dump station. Our gray and black water tanks are combined using a Valterra sewer shut off valve, so our gray water holding capacity is doubled. Our fresh water lasts longer since we are not using it to flush. I empty the pee bottle nightly. The jury is still out on how long we can go before dumping "the solids" but it is looking like two weeks so far. We are still working out how much water to mix with the coconut coir so things work well for us.

At some point I'll post a detailed summary of how the work was done and pictures over in the toilet sub forum, but here's a pic of the installation.

Our microwave drawer mod

Our 2nd mod was to remove the microwave and turn the drawer into a pantry drawer. We don't use or cook with a microwave so for us it was wasted space. I removed the microwave and stored it at home and we had Jackson Center fabricate the pantry drawer out of the microwave drawer. It was done in a way where I can restore it to being a microwave drawer and reinstall the microwave for resale.

We use the new drawer to put our plates and mugs in. Picture attached.

Looks like the exact layout of my 2017 International Serenity. Only modifications I have made is to stick suction cup holders in strategic places for hanging clothes, pot holders, and small towels.

Our Planned Mod

In addition to the two mods I just posted, as I mentioned in this thread we also plan to have Jackson Center convert our lounge to a cabinet with drawers and a counter top using the same materials in our Globetrotter. Below are pics of what it looks like now and one of something like we want to do.
