Can someone give me the measurement from the center of the toilet base to the wall. And the distance between the back of the toilet and the wall?
My best guess is we will need approx 1 1/4” of space between the toilet and wall to have enough room.

I went to the GT today and got some measurements for you. Unfortunately I misread your email and got the dimension from the back of the base to the wall, not the center as you had asked.

But from the back of the base to the wall is 5". And from the back of the seating area to the wall is 1". Maybe that will help.

Beautiful Contemporary Model. Love the Upholstery much more than the International Signature Ultra Leather that you Slide in.
We were set to buy one.
The Local Airstream Dealer said the Best Deal he could offer me was MSRP. Said it would be bad for me if I paid less than MSRP because it would make it hard to resell. What?

Our GT comes in February. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and watching videos on YouTube since we placed our order.

So far, our 2019 Globetrotter has just needed a few minor adjustments.

We have had issues with a couple of cabinets/drawers opening and dumping while traveling. So, we put on kiddie/earthquake locks that can be "unlocked" when we aren't moving and locked when we are. Also, added a lift to the cabinet over the refrigerator -thus avoiding having to hold it up while putting stuff in or out with the other hand. Still working on how to keep the mirror in the bathroom from coming open...not a huge issue as everything in the cabinet is corralled, but it shouldn't pop open everytime we move.

We did opt for the convection/microwave rather than the gas oven. I have something similar at home so it has been easy use and most often we stop where we do have power. That left a very nice pantry area as well as flexibility on how we cook. We also have a nice gas grill that travels with us so there is always that option.

We also added solar and the upgraded batteries. Because Howie is stored in an outside lot, there is no way to plug into a trickle charger and we really ddin't want to pull the batteries each time we left. That has been a wonderful addition, Howie is usually at full battery power whenever we are ready to go, we can boondock for several days without running out of power or even having to conserve, and no need to run a generator.

Here's an overhead shot of our original toilet. To me it is elongated but don't know if this is what you're looking for...

Please notice in this picture that there isn't a lot of room in this space. Also notice that our toilet was installed perpendicular to the rear wall. You'll notice in the floor plan that it is supposed to be at an angle rotated towards the lavatory door. I don't know whether or not ours was installed wrong or if this is the way they are doing it. But if your toilet is installed like this, you may not be able to put in a more elongated toilet because your knees will be whacking into the cabinet holding the sink. We actually had to sit a bit sideways on our original toilet and turn towards the door so it was more comfortable leg room-wise.

When we converted to a composting toilet we had the new toilet installed at the proper angle.

Hi GMFL, we actually have the London Grey/Natural Elm interior. I guess it looks a bit light in the picture. We really like it.

As a side note, everyone who has an older AS that has come into our trailer and sat down has remarked that they don't slide on the cushions. Guess that was a problem with other interiors. Not a problem in the new Globetrotter.

We also had a terrible mishap today. It was a beautiful day so our windows were open. The landscaping guys came by with weed whackers and worked on the site next to us, digging a trench around the storage shed, and apparently creating a huge cloud of filth that came in our windows. We came back to the trailer and found the inside of our trailer, and our floor and cushions, covered with fine black dust. It all vacuumed up. Just a lot of time consuming and aggravating work. But my point is the interior is easy to clean.

The elongated bowl actually moves the seating area center back 1 1/4” and only projects 1 3/4” further forward than the stock toilet.

Basically it will move your knees back 1 1/4”.

Yes the ultra leather can be a little slippery. Not an issue on our 23D but can be.
I love the textured feel of the Globetrotters upholstery.

Our current unit is paid for and we want to write a check for our new Globetrotter. We are about 20K away. Hope to have it figured out by early summer.

We have a 2018 27 ft Globetrotter. Several of the screws that hold the cabinet doors to the hinges have stripped out. On some I have filled the hole with epoxy and put the screw back in. On others I have used a bigger screw. This has happened on 1/2 of our cabinet doors and the latch of the bathroom door. Has anyone else had this problem? If so how did you fix?

Yes I have had a similar experience. I replaced some with larger screws and repaired some of the others with glue and and slivers of wood. I keep and eye on them and so far so good.

I removed the latch and screws. Took a thin toothpick and cut two pieces the depth of the hole. Used some Gorilla wood glue to completely cover the toothpick piece and using tweezers placed each piece on either side of the hole. Taped in place with some blue painters tape and let dry completely. Used nail clippers to cut off the little bit sticking out of the hole. Then re-attached the latch and screws. In each case seems to be holding up nicely.

Securing drawers. I had drawers come out on my previous trailer so used bungie straps while traveling.

I can't find a good solution to keep the drawers in and don't want to deal with broken drawers, microwave etc on floor.

Does anyone have a good solution.

Won't have the trailer for another 10 days or so. There must be a better way than what the factory does.

Any cabinet makers here?

I’m a woodworker. The processes described above for addressing screws that have been pulled out is pretty standard practice—some kind of wooden shim (toothpick, piece of wood) and glue and/or epoxy. It sounds like either the plywood is not great or the screw threads are not deep enough to take bite all the time or some combination of these two things.

As for securing drawers, I really like the idea of using the Rev-A-Lock (perhaps this was in another thread) rather than moving to stronger pulls. It basically allows you to lock the drawer (sufficiently enough that babies and kids can’t open them, and I suspect they are stronger than the forces of an Airstream in motion) and would just require a quick pass with the magnetic key while setting up camp to unlock all the drawers and “disable” the magnet. We have these on all of our kitchen and bath cabinets from when our kids were little. Now that they’re not I might transfer a few to the Globetrotter. Some cabinets/drawers require slight modification for these to work.

I pick up my trailer in March and will assess at that time what work I want to do pre-emptively and for that work, what will be required. I can update at that time.
