I purchased from Discount Tire, https://www.discounttire.com/wheels/brands/sendel, when I upgraded my 2014 to the 15" SenDel rims last year. Please see specs below. I believe the specs are the same for 2016.

We used trailer-wheels.com, and they worked out well. Specs (with trailer-wheels part number):

TW-T03-56545T 15x6 Aluminum Bullet T03 Sendel Trailer Wheel 5 Lug, 2150 lb Max Load

TW-106EZSS-60C 3.19 in Stainless Steel Trailer Wheel Center Cap Open End with Removable Plug

replacing vinyl flooring

Hi 23fb friends,

Long story short, we will be spending this holiday weekend unexpectedly replacing our vinyl flooring after we found black stains from water that had leaked from our fresh water pump/pressurizer. We will pull up the vinyl, dry out the subfloor (hopefully we won't need to replace it) and put down new flooring.

any tips for replacing the vinyl flooring in the 23FB model? Anyone have floor templates, or advice?

We plan to get some vinyl that hopefully matches our light-wood colored trim from Lowe's.
I'm guessing we will need to completely remove the bed, and couch?
We are full-time so this should be a fun adventure...

No tips, since I haven't had to do this, but I'm following. Maybe related, of late I've noticed a consistent drip while hooked to shore water. It seems to be coming from the overflow of the water storage tank from the outlet pipe with a screen grid cover. Is that normal? I've never used stored water and the pump to pressurize the AS, so I couldn't see where it would cause this. I'm hoping there is no damage now.

I'm sorry MikeAnkorage for your problem. It sounds like a LOT of work! I have noticed a handful of times some water running from under the street side closet on the floor at the foot of the bed. We have checked the water pump/pressurizer and have found no leaks/water. We are thinking it could be from the refrigerator? Any ideas? Hearing your situation makes me even more nervous!

If you’ve never used the fresh water tank might be good time to open the fresh water tank and see if it’s full.

If it’s full time to suspect that the water pump is allowing the fresh water from the hose to fill the tank.

fresh water tank and metal housing

HI,

Just purchased a 2016 23FB Int. signature.. (Moved up from a 19ft FC Bambi.

Purchased it with fried original batteries; and going the 4 BB battery route with VIctron Invter-Charger. Locating all of this under Bed. I need to run some pretty heavy gauge wiring from the AC-DC panel to the new location under front bed. Has anyone attempted this? The only option I see is run wires down from right of AC-DC Panel and through floor and across the coach under belly. I see a metal covering over the fresh water tank. If I remove the bolts for that, does it drop the fresh water tank also? I just want try and tuck the wires between water tank and the metal housing to protect them.

Thanks!

I hope this is a helpful comment about water leaks; I had noticed that the water connection under the sink had a slow leak at the filter connection. I tried replacing gaskets, filters and could not stop it. Finally realized it seemed to be coming from the PEX crimp. I purchased a 1/2" crimper and re-crimped the band. Stopped the leak.

I then used the GO/NO GO tool that was included and found that all of the crimps I could reach were not within spec and needed re-crimping.

It appears that the crimp connections were not properly done during the build, so I am on a mission to check every one I can access.

Dang, that's truly awful. What a huge, and frustrating, job.

I sold the 23FB but might be able to help understand how you can route wires from side to side. There is a wire chase that runs under the floor without the need to drop the fresh tank. One end is under the forward dinette seat next to wheel-well box. My 2013, with its bench type seats, protected the entry with a metal shield. The other end comes out below the load center near the other wheel-well box. I simply used a stiff wire to fish and then pull in the cables. It is easy to run from dinette to under the bed under the wardrobe.

I ran two 10/3 SOOW cables in that chase for my inverter (not Victron). For the Multiplus 3000w (I assume 3000) the 10/3 will be its feed, but output could be 6/3 awg back to the load center to take advantage of PowerAssist, where the inverter will supplement power from the batteries and add it to shore power... for a short time. That way the entire coach can powered by the inverter.

Not sure, if I would run 30amp feed from RV plug to inverter all new, add a 2 slot load center with a 30a main, or just add a box for a splice point. You should not splice wire without protection / future access, of course. I also added a Smartplug, which I endorse.

Consider using SOOW for input and output, which is essentially a cord without plugs. A 6/3 cord is quite large, but I think it would be possible to pull both through that chase.

You won't be needing the existing converter, of course. Sorry, I am going way beyond what you need to know... and probably already know.

Fair Enough,
Thanks for your post. I had been wondering the same thing. I put two each 200 Ah LiFePO4 batteries under the bed. Temporarily running the wiring from the battery box back to the bed area so that we could use the batteries on a trip in Sept. The wiring is a mess now as the wire from the converter now comes out of the left side of the trailer to the battery box and back into the right side and to the batteries. All grounds go back to the box to go through my shunt. Hopefully this winter we can get this sorted out. Most other wiring from the solar etc, will be greatly simplified having the batteries under the bed. I also would like to put in a larger inverter to be able to run the entire 110V system from the inverter. I never understood why Airstream did not offer a larger battery option and a larger inverter. It would have been nice to be able to plug in a larger coffee maker or blender.

Gas Stop

Good day everyone and Happy Holidays.

Quick question. We are about to leave for a trip and recently installed the Gas Stops on lpg tanks so that the frig will keep cold. I’m 99% sure I know the answer but while traveling do I need to keep the Airstream in “in use” and not “store”?

Thank you,
Jim

thanks a ton! I will look for the chase to run the wires from behind the AC-DC panel to over by dinette. I have to run new 30amp wires from the plug on outside of camper up to the new victron 3k multi-plus. The current 30amp shore plug feeds the converter below the AC-DC panel. So 30amp 3 conductor up to victron. AC and DC cables back to panel.

Hope to join the 23FB group

Just sold our 2005 airstream 19Cb. Time to go a little bigger. Thought about going new, but customizing it to our life is so much fun. We will probably end up with a 2013 or 2014 23FB and the first thing will be to rip out the queen and put in twins. Iven been surfing this thread for a while and you have given me some great ideas for our next airstream....now to find the right one

Congrats! The 23 FB is a great trailer, and it’s well suited to a half ton truck. Enjoy the adventures!

Thanks!

The 8' width is a little cozier than our previous 30' FC, but so far very snug for just the two of us.
