Note to self for now, either toss the flat tire in our truck bed, or secure the tire into the spare carrier with a small length of chain and two clips. Thinking the later would easily work.

Reminds me, I was looking to put a lock on the spare tire carrier, but the clevis pin and hole size that holds the hair pin cotter are not really sufficient for any type of padlock to be installed. Has anyone found a better way to secure the spare? Thinking now that the chain could kill two birds with one stone, but would still like to lock the carrier in place.

I removed the ducting and the bulb heat shield for this picture. Also in this mess of wires is a 1 amp inline fuse that goes to the LP detector. I’m going to poke around in here some more and see what else I can find.
Just found this thread.... I think the incandescent bulbs are there to offer a resistive load since you have LED lights. Yes, no maybe?

I have absolutely loved living in my 23D for the past year, but our family is growing and we'll be selling it.

This little trailer has grown on us in so many ways. I think it's the best year, best trim, and best model ever built. I absolutely love this little trailer, and it's going to be so hard to let it go.

And, just to contribute a bit to this thread, here are some pics of my kitchen remodel/desk install. SO MUCH MORE SPACE up front! I'll be editing a video of the project soon.

We have absolutely loved the 23D. It's our dream trailer, especially in the ocean breeze trim. After the kitchen remodel, I couldn't be happier with it. It's the perfect trailer.

If we didnt full time in it, we could definitely make it work with an infant, but since we full time, we want something larger.

Yep, the bulbs were a previous owner mod that I didn't need so I removed them. I feel a lot safer not having those things generating heat in that packed out cubby hole.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to the videos because the kitchen sink bump out removal looks like a huge improvement and will be on my wish list.

Are you guys going back to 30 footer? If so, do you regret that you had sold Sparky? Or are you interested in something between 23 and 30? What do you think you would need in your new trailer to accommodate an infant? Do you get inspiration from "Less Junk More Journey" guys? Their kid isn't exactly an infant though. But why does it have to be full-timing? Didn't you say in one of the videos that you have less flexibility in full-timing? Why not buy a cheap house and use it as the home base? Wouldn't that take away all of your stress and enjoy your life even more?

Too many questions, I know. I love your videos.

Here's what I've been up to lately

Happy day everybody!

So, I finally got around to making a 'bedside shelf' for Linda. A lot of thought went into the dimensions, keeping in mind all the uses she will have for the shelf and for the 'stuff' that gets stuffed into the [replacement] book rack.

As with all my stupid projects, it is primarily 1/4" (nominal) Baltic birch, laminated with Wilsonart "Asian Sand" pattern (same as the Airstream's other cabinetry). The shelf folds up for bed-making and whatever, and locks into the down position by using one of those little brass double-ball catches.

All in all, I'm pleased with the project, and Linda is thrilled... and that's what counts!

Folding Shelf

Very nice as usual RFP. Does friction in the hinge keep it in the folded position? Guess I need to build two, one for both of us!

23d bedding help!

Rob,
This is my first post as a new owner. We bought ours in May and have taken it on a couple short trips. Love it so far, except for trying to make up that corner bed. I noiticed in one of your Flickr photos that you have what appears to be a bedspread that is rounded and actually fits the bed. Would you point me in the right direction to find something along those lines? Yours looks perfect!
We enjoy reading the thread and following everyone’s projects.
Thanks much.
Katherine

Your trailer should have been delivered with a custom-fit bedspread. Did you not get one with yours? If not...your dealer owes you one. Unless of course you bought yours used and the previous owner didn't include it for some reason. I'm on my third used one in 2 1/2 years and they each had the original bedding (and pile of throw pillows Airstream insists on including!) But for what it's worth, I immediately take the bedspread off and store it away, as do many others. I just use a full sized comforter and duvet cover.

Steve,

Congrats on the baby news!! That is awesome, you guys will make great parents.

Add the bunk and you will have enough room.... ah maybe not for full timing.

Love that desk mod. I may look into that after the kids grow up and move out. Not for a few more years.

Good luck with everything and keep us posted here or on your videos!
